The I-17 Freeway
goes through many geographically diverse regions in Arizona,
from the desert to the pine tree covered environ-ments.
Besides the historical and cultural features of an area the
freeway designs sometime reflect the geographical features unique
to the project site area. The first, lower middle and
right images echo the riparian elements found in the community
of Campverde. The meandering pattern representing the
river that can be seen from the bridge. The rock pattern
represents the river rock material used on the historical buildings.
The lower left image is in a desert area showing desert reptile
icon mountains and circular shaped sunset icons. |
